Referendum Trap

Referendum Trap

The End of One Project, the Beginning of a New Plan.

By Raghu Kondori, Director of the Shahvand Think Tank.

The project of “shedding skin”—to either seize the power of the Supreme Leader (Velayat‑e Faqih) or to push it aside—continues under the banner of so‑called reformists.
The project known as “From Tajzadeh to the Prince,” an attempt to exploit monarchist forces, has failed. Yet the process of shedding skin goes on under a new tactic, this time with the help of Mir‑Hossein and his partners, now branded as a “referendum.”
Let us not be deceived.

The End of One Project, the Beginning of a New Plan

The end of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” project; the start of the regime’s metamorphosis
By Raghu Kondori – Secretary of the Shahvand Think Tank

At this historic turning point, the Woman, Life, Freedom movement—once a flame that ignited national awakening—is now being extinguished by the very forces whose goal was never genuine change, but rather “anger management” and containment of the people’s passion within a carefully engineered project. The recent remarks by Faezeh Hashemi have in effect declared the official end of this movement.

But behind this ending, a new project has begun: The project of “Man, Homeland, Prosperity.” This project is the regime’s metamorphosis: an attempt to preserve power with a more modern façade and a more nationalistic vocabulary. But its truth has not changed:

Political Islam neither dies nor reforms—it only sheds its skin.

Mojtaba Khamenei: The “Iranian Bin Salman”? In this new project, Mojtaba Khamenei—backed by security figures, former reformists, and segments of global elites—is being introduced as an “Iranian Bin Salman.” This shift, carried out with the participation of the regime’s Eastern allies—from China, Russia, and Qatar to select circles in the West—is moving forward with the goal of rebuilding legitimacy from within.

But what is the real aim of this project? Not to reform the regime. Not to save the people. But to divert the path of the system’s collapse toward a controlled internal transfer of power.

The Woman, Life, Freedom movement—with its enticing slogans like “women’s rights,” “social justice,” and “civil society”—is now being deployed in service of the regime’s survival. From now on, the very forces that were once symbols of resistance will throw their full media and political weight into countering the monarchy alternative and undermining Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi.

This project is containment from within and diversion from without.

Collapse of Legitimacy: A Historic Opportunity for the Iranian Nation

The Islamic Republic has entered the stage of terminal collapse:

  • Economic and social crises at their peak
  • Security threats from inside and outside
  • Moral and political legitimacy eroding by the day

At the same time, the world is caught in its own crises—from Europe and America to East Asia—and no foreign power either has the capacity or the will to intervene.

And precisely in this global vacuum, a historic opportunity has emerged for the people of Iran:

The chance for salvation lies only in the hands of the Iranian people themselves.

A salvation that can only pass through a deeply rooted, legitimate, and unifying institution: A Constitutional Monarchy.

Shahvand’s Proposed Path: A Transitional Monarchical Government

Main objective: The overthrow of the Islamic Republic and preservation of national cohesion afterward.

Practical proposal: Forming a Transitional Monarchical Government under the leadership of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, with the rallying cry: Shah, Homeland, Freedom.

Key features of this model:

  • Historical and cultural legitimacy
  • A focal point of national and identity-based cohesion
  • The ability to ensure internal and border security
  • Laying the groundwork for a truly legitimate and free referendum

Strategic Warning: Time to Change the Opposition’s Map

The regime, through its metamorphosis project, is working to dismantle the opposition from within. If opposition forces do not update their strategies, they will lose the initiative.

Only one historic and cultural axis can restore the balance in favor of the nation: A Constitutional Monarchy, with a Transitional Monarchical Government.

Essentials for Successful Nation-Building

  • A multi‑layered consultative structure
  • Extensive participation of women in strategy design, institution-building, and decision-making
  • Virtual–field coordination: smartly connecting online space with real action in the streets, media, and grassroots networks
  • People’s diplomacy: gaining international legitimacy for the Transitional Monarchical Government through the unity of Iranians worldwide

Now is not the time to be a spectator.
Tactical neutrality has ended.
If we turn our backs on history, history will turn its back on us.

Shah, Homeland, Freedom—more than a slogan; it is the code for salvation.

Shahvand, maintaining its analytical independence and strategic focus, declares its full support for the leadership of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and his decisions.

The homeland awaits its true sons and daughters.
